Wp1 receipt for Non B 1 year extension

Featured Replies

Hey guys I have a quick question.

Can I use the Work permit application receipt (WP1) to get one year Non B extension or do I need to wait for the actual work permit?

You need the work permit to apply for the extension.

You need the work permit to apply for the extension.

When changing jobs, in cases where both the old WP and Extension of Permission to Stay expire at the same time, plus that the WP1 Receipt is for a successful filing excluding the extension alone, then in some areas Immigration will accept the filing receipt in lieu of the renewed WP.

I replied under the assumption that the OP is on a 90 day non-b visa entry.

Not sure OP is changing jobs. Most offices will want a work permit approval letter from the Labor Ministry and will not accept just the receipt for it.
