What is the name of a really fruit that looks just like longan, but tastes totally different -really sour and acid and sweet? The inside of the fruit is white but has 3 lobes, unlike longan.

I think you mean a Langsat. The peel has sticky excretion like glue as you peel it.

Locally it is called longong. Llamyai is what we call longan.

Yes Langsat but there is also a larger kind of Langsat which they call Long gong (sp?) I think just a different variety, it seems to have less sticky gum in the peel.

Langsat. super, thanks, i remember eating it the uplands of vietnam. Favourite fruit to date, but my mouth feels like i have been sucking batteries after just a handful.
