Pepperoni and Salami in Makro and others

Featured Replies

A few years back I lived in Rayong and had a pizza shop. I could buy big salami and pepperoni in Makro for about 750 baht.

So I am firing up my brick pizza oven on wheels here in Bangkok soon and went into Makro (outer ring road near Rama II) and, to my disappointment, no big salami or pepperoni for sale!

Anyone have any suggestions? Are they no longer selling them in Makro?

Its Thai German I am pretty sure

Makro in Pattaya has both salami and pepperoni but, as mentioned, I dont think either comes from outside Thailand. 750-800B is about the price for the whole thing. In Pattaya they also do more expensive ones that probably are imported.

I suspect you just need to try another Makro. Their stock control can be very erratic.

Yeah I do not feel like going all the way to Pattaya to buy it. I will try different Makros, and thanks KittenKong. Anyone know of a place in BKK?

The salami is made by TGM, ( Thai German Meat) Please see their website if you'd like to order there: http://www.tgm.co.th/tgm/index.php?lang=en

But it's very easy to ask for the manager of the particular Makro and tell him/her to order xx salamis/ etc.. for you, leave your phone number and they'll call you.

I usually stand next to them when they type the order in the computer.

Best of luck.

P.S. It still is 750 baht for a 1 kg salami. best quality.

TGM products are also available at Lotus...recently they've had nice liver sausage available (not that you'd want to put that on a pizza)

Since we are talking about salami right now, let me tell you that after living for now 29½ years constantly in Thailand I have only very recently found the best tasting salami in Thailand and yes, it is made by TGM. I found it not in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket or Chiang Mai, I found it at Tops Supermarket in Surin. 70 g for 108 Baht. Go and taste it. The last time I went they had only four packs, but, of course, I bought them all. I make some pictures, so you can chase it at your Tops nearest to you. I can imagine that Villa or Foodland might have it as well.

Super delicious! I have no affiliation neither with Tops or TGM.
