BANGKOK: -- A complaint was lodged with Paholyothin police on Saturday against a Thai Rath newspaper columnist for allegedly distorting the draft constitution in his commentary.

Mr Narinpong Chinapak, president of the Law Council of Thailand, who lodged the complaint accused Sai Lor Fah, a columnist of Thai Rath newspaper, of distorting the draft charter in his article in a way to mislead the public to vote or to not vote for the draft in the referendum on August 7.

He also warned netizens not to share the article in question in the social media as they might be deemed violating the referendum law.

Mr Narinpong said further he would go the office of the Election Commission on Monday to follow up his complaint lodged earlier with the EC against those responsible for the printing of a booklet with content urging people to vote for the draft.

Maybe Narinpong will find time to also file complaints against the Democrat Party and Suthep's PDRC Foundation for urging people to vote for the draft.

But he seems to be single-minded in who he directs his efforts against.

Of course we cannot find out what he said so folks could decide for themselves if accurate or not by reading charter and deciding for themselves.... Too much to ask those for the charter to refute point by point whatever was printed (if they can)? Apparently so...

I wonder if it's against the law to talk about it in a negative light?
