BANGKOK: -- Narcotic Suppression Bureau police today busted a drug gang in Bang Khunthien district and arrested three suspects for the possession of over 568,000 methamphetamines for sales.

The drug suspects were identified as Piya Busamrong, 25,  Nampol Sukchuang, 29, and Ms Panunee Puengbamrung 28.

According to the Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Rewat Klinkesorn, all are said to be members of the so-called Oros drug trafficking gang which had close link with the most wanted drug dealer Col Yi Se at the Thai Myanmar border.

The three were arrested after narcotic police received a tipoff that the Oros gang was going to deliver a huge cache of drugs to a major dealer.

Plainclothes police were deployed and arrest was made when the gang members came to the appointed place in Bang Khunthien area.

2,000 meths were found in their possession.

Subsequent searches in their houses produced the remaining 500,000 meths.

The suspects confessed that all the drugs belonged to the notorious drug trafficker Col Yi Se and Wah minority group listed as most wanted drug traffickers in Thailand.

this lucky catch was due to the community spirited people who gave the tip.

of course the well co-ordinated effort of the police is to be commended because without their follow up little could have been achieved.

"the community spirited people who gave the tip."

More likely a greedy or disgruntled employee down the line tempted by a reward who may soon be found with his throat cut and genitals in his mouth.

A waste of good drugs. Id prefer to see them back in circulation and returned to their rightful owners. The growth of the USA economy in the 50s and the city of London in the 80s is partially attributable to amphetamines and cocaine use respectively.
