fvw53
a "honorary" consul has the same status as the honorary president of a football club ...but he can hang out at his office a sign board "Consulate of the UK" For several countries a honorary consul in Thailand is simply a Thai person with good local connections However some of those honorary consuls are doing very useful work to provide a liaison with their embassy in Bangkok to solve local issues involving citizens.
