What is is written on the Thai Work Visa in the passport ?

Recommended Posts

My tourist visa is category TR and Single Entry and says 1000 baht fee and has Employment Prohibited written in the Remarks.

my old Education Visa is Category ED and Single entry and says 2000 baht fee and nothing written in the remarks.

if I get a job and have a work visa, what will it say in the above 4 sections of the visa ?

and also, will i get a 1 year stamp on arrival at Bangkok ? or is it like the Education visa where they just gave 3 months every time (totaling a year).

Thanks ;)

You can get a non-B visa with " Employment Prohibited" , there is no work visa.

It only means that you must get a work permit to work.

You will get 90 days permission to stay on entry on a multiple 1 year non-B visa.

You will get one 90 day entry from a single entry non-b visa.

Then when you apply for an extension of stay based upon working it will be valid for one year from the date the 90 day entry ends.

So, do you mean that if I get a job as an English teacher, then I would leave thailand and get a Non-B visa from a Thai Embassy.
and this Non-B visa will have Employment prohibited written in the remarks ? and i receive a 90 day stamp on entering Thailand ?

and this alone will Not allow me to work.

I would also need to get a Work Permit ?

the work permit is the thing that allows me to work ?

is this correct ?

I didnt know this.

is the work permit also stuck into my passport? or is it a letter or something ?

The chances of a non-b visa showing employment prohibited are small.

You need a work permit to work or teach.

The work permit is a booklet (similar to a bank book) and is applied for at the labor ministry by your employer.
