Fifth crew member of sunken fishing boat rescued off Phuket

PHUKET:-- Officials from the Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command have confirmed that the fifth crew member of the Bumrungthainawa 1 fishing boat was rescued from the water south of Koh Maithon by another fishing boat, Sor Samuth, at 11:55am today and that Navy boats and a helicopter are still searching for the missing four men crew members.
 

Royal Thai Navy Lt Worawit Nopakao was has been out searching on the Tor 933 Navy boat said, “This morning we transported three crew members, Aomachu, 26; Jamayu, 30; Mackha, 34, and the body of the boat’s captain, 58-year-old Prayad Klaewglaharn, to Vachira Hospital. This was done as the search continued for the rest of the missing crew.

 

“Later this morning a fishing boat called in after seeing a man in the water,” he said.
