LOPBURI: -- A 74 year old German man was found dead in front of his Lopburi house beside his favorite place to take a rest - a swing.

Khok Toom police and medics found the body of Burkhard Kurt Fly (name transliterated) lying next to a small swing in front of his house. He had been dead a few hours, reported Naewna. He had a cut on his head.

Burkhard's Thai wife Sunee Yencham, 66, said that her husband had come to live in Thailand with her for about 14 years. He was a former building contractor in Germany. She said that after breakfast he had gone to lie down on his favorite swing.

He was found around 4pm by someone passing the house and was already dead.

The body was sent for autopsy.

Found by someone passing by,dead for few hours, did his wife

not wonder where he was,not suggesting she had anything

to do with it,sure my wife would come looking for me,if i had

been out of sight for a few hours.

regards worgeordie

breakfast to 4pm is a long time, that sums up a lot of thai marriages (not all but a majority)

Hope it was a worthy breakfast & he died content ... but doubt it :-/

Yeah, but maybe you can't behave yourself if left alone?

reported he dead a few hours, even if had breakfast at lunch time :-S being dead outside the couples house for few hours rather a shame at the the least.

a 74 year old man dying after breakfast beside his favorite swing is hardly a shame.

i certainly would not mind dying in a hammock some time past 70.

I had thought the same thing...and I like the swing ;-)

All things must pass...

My wife nudges me at night if she thinks I've stopped breathing.  I faked it the last time and when she put her finger under my nostrils, I couldn't hold back, started cracking up laughing.  Told her she needs to trade me in for an older model to bend the odds in her favor a bit more.

if i remember correctly don vito corleone went in an almost identical way…sitting in his favourite olive orchard. sounds like a good way to go.

may he swing in peace!

poor guy RIP, maybe his wife was out, regardless  hopefully he went peacefully.

You can not lay down in that small swing.

Breakfast to 4 pm. At least 5 hours if not 6 +

His fear wife did not ask him if he wants a cup of tea or lunch?

His dear wife did not check on him all these hours?

What time his dear wife cooked and ate lunch?

Alone? How about his life insurance. ..properties etc etc

Had a cut on the head=Suicide trade mark Tai Sty

Guy eats breakfast and goes out to his swing llike he does each morning.

He suffers a health issue which makes him black out and he falls against the swing and then falls to the ground unconscious...hitting his head against the swing and/or the ground.

Not exactly rocket science.

I agree

No mention about the swing going up for sale per chance. :coffee1:

Have you any statistical basis for your comment on Thai marriages?

Just a normal death that would never make the headlines in the western media.

It might sum up a lot of the boring fallangs that Thai women have the misfortune to marry but it says nothing about the attentiveness of the average Thai woman.

You forgot to mention that his dear wife could of been poisoning him.

how correct you are. the husband does not turn up for lunch. that should raise red flags.

i find it somewhat surprising  and even disturbing that the wife did not enquire about her husband for such a long period of time. early attention might have saved him assuming that he sustained a cut  from  a fall or other minor accident.

An unworthy comment

As usual, not enough information for us to draw a conclusion.

RIP

What an insightful post. You really are filled with alot of hate.

My wife says she loves that I am boring. Had her first husband been more boring than maybe he wouldn't have run off with a new younger girlfriend and kept most of their mutual property and all vehicles.

Just a heads up but you are getting wound tighter & tighter each day on here. Most old guys will tell you that is a bad sign and you should take a vacation.

As he was 74 years old it is possible he was on the swing and had a heart attack then simply fell forward hitting his head as he fell.

I can;t say this is what happened, but it is a only a possibility.

With no other details given no one can be sure what actually happened.

Any speculation without futher dtails is meaningles speculation at his age.

Anyway, rest in Peace.

You think my come back to someone filled with hate for Thais that is actually in appreciation of Thai women infers that I am wound tightly?  :cheesy:  I think you just may have been projecting with that comment, don't you?  After all, it is me that has spent several posts defending someone from others hate filled posts, the only thing I expressed any hate for was other people's hate, while you have been defending your right to express hatred, I am sorry but your comebacks are getting lamer each time.
