How Did You Find Thaivisa.com?

Featured Replies

Firstly, sorry if this thread has been done before.

How did you come across this site? Word of mouth? By accident? Google? A friend?

Me; I was looking for something about a UK visa (I think) and found it on a Google search.

I looked out of the window and there it was.

No joke, they used to have an office around the corner where I work in Bangkok.

The previous owner, I believe.

had been told by a good friend many times to come on here when I lived in LOS. I took a few glances but never signed on.

It wasn't til I was in Guatemala in 2004 and missing LOS tremendously, that I finally signed.

Kanwin regrets his advice to me ever since :D

:o:D

Same here :o

Well i was bored at work, just came back from another holiday from Thailand, still had abit of Thai fever in me and wanted to talk and read about thailand.

First i was in some phuket info forum but they talk about ladyboys too much and trying to justify how they are really females etc, wasnt my taste then found this one.

I liked and havent needed to look for any other forum.

I like this because I feel that I need to set some people straight in there way of thinking.

Did a search on visas for thailand, this came up - never looked back :D

Bore my better 'arf endlessly about wot i read on TV :o

I could do without it now - my bible!!

Four years ago, I Googled it (a legitimate English verb, now) since I was needing visa information. Then later got hooked on the forum for all the other juicy stuff.

Find it very informative since day one, glances occasionally in the earlier stage as a guest but didn’t join. Only lately decided to join and contribute part of the forum discussions.

Keep it up.

I forgot :o

LaoPo

Was aware of it when it started but on a dial up just wasn't possible to actually login and search or do any darned thing. :o

I actually typed in katoysarus.com so Im not sure why thaivisa.com popped up ... :o strange ... :D

Heard about it from Lonely Planet when I asked a visa question there. May have even been chanchao on that site who rec'd it to me way back in March 2004

HeII, it's been so long I don't remember...I'm guessing I was Googling for some visa info at the time. My post count is low but so is my member number. :o

Keep on setting them straight, Donz :o

I followed a link from Tales of Asia.

A customer gave me an order on a recycled piece of paper. On the back was a printout from ThaiVisa, like Donz I had a dose of Thai fever so I remembered the site. I looked at the site, found the information good, then I explored the forums. :o

I read a lot in the first few months, not posting much. Now I respond to most things I can help with, and a lot I can't. :D

I forgot :o

LaoPo

Me too. :D

Never heard of "forums" before

Came over here as a refugee when another board formerly about teaching in Thailand fell victim to trolls, then stayed here permanently when it became apparent that board would never be willing or able to control them.

It's been about four years ago or so, I was told, there is a nice chat room at bangkokchat, then I went on the wrong room...this room...and never want to go any other room :o

Pretty much the same scenario for me. Either I stumbled across TV via Google or through a reference on another website. I lurked for at least six months before I joined.

Was searching for a decent Thai website :D. Joined and was a passive read-only member for 8 months before becoming the first official :oTROLL! :D

Via Yahoo web search. Looking for info on finding a job in Thailand.
