Stef
I have a recent Acer desktop (to which the router will be a connected) and an Apple MacBook laptop. I am using True ADSL (512/256). Can anyone advise a good and cheap ADSL router for my configuration? Thanks

cdnvic
You looking for wireless or wired? I still hesitate. It will depend on the price. Wireless will normally run you about 1.5 to two times the cost of wired. You need to factor in adding a wireless network card to the computers you connect as well. Make sure any wireless router you get has WPA encryption not WEP which is easily compromised. All routers should include a firewall. Anything from D-link, or LinkSys will be fine for home or small business networking, and not too difficult to setup. Just be sure to change your router's default passwords. Don't buy a cheap, unknown brand as these are often crap. I will probably buy a D-Link DSL-G604T wireless router (2,300 Bahts). Stef
Richard-BKK
D-Link DSL G604T works fine with me and only cost 2,220 Baht (http://www.jib.co.th) The D-Link G604T also supports ADSL2/2+ if that ever is comming to Thailand. Some people who say they use a D-Link DSL G604T, say that they are not able to open the setup screen with there Apple Mac. Personally I tested it with a new Apple iMac (Intel Mac) and found no problem, seem the screen takes a bit longer to load, but that was all (and maybe not related to the test)
Meerkat
I've got the DSL-G604T too. Works fine with both my iMac and Windows PCs. Only slight annoyance is a slight high-pitched hum from the unit. Not a bother during the daytime when it's drowned out by everyday sounds, but noticeable in the quiet of the night.
