Best option for 3 months stay

Featured Replies

Friend coming over in Oct wants to stay 3 months. Will be going to Hull honary consulate. What's the easiest visa to get for that period and what are the documents he requires at Hull.

Or cane he come over get a 30 day exempt to to immigration  and extend for 30 days then pop out on a border run for another 30 day exempt?????

Copied earlier post to this topic after removing one that had been edited after I posted to say it was a double post and un removed this one.

A single entry tourist visa would be the best option. It will allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days.

All that is needed is his passport, application form and money for the fees. Info here: http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/pdf/v4-rtc-hull-visa-application-pack-2016.pdf

And you didn't say where your friend is, but if he's not actually near Hull, he can post his application for SETV to the London Embassy. They usually turn them around in less than a week (if there are no UK or Thai public holidays in that time) and I found it painless. Also, the Visa will be good for entry within 3 months of issue so he can apply in plenty of time. (He could actually apply now if he's travelling in October.)

The  extra cost of this (secure postage and postal order) may save the fuel and time costs driving to Hull.
