Second Extension of Stay Under Tourist Visa Possible?

My understanding is that you can apply for, and receive, a 30-day extension of stay after entering on a tourist visa only once.  After that, a second application for extension will result in you being given an additional 7 days to leave the country (from the date of expiry of the original extension).  Also that the second, refused request, still requires the payment of a 1900 Baht fee.  Can someone confirm that this is indeed correct?

You can only apply for one 30 day extension of a 60 day tourist visa entry.

You can apply for a 7 day extension, pay 1900 baht and be granted 7 days to leave the country.

The 7 days start from the end of the 30 day extension.

Have a friend coming on a single entry TV. Have just told him, that he can get it extended for 30 days at immigration + land border run=another 15 days and that stamp can be further extended at immigration. He needs 4 months. Is the above advice correct?

Yes, that is correct (assuming, of course) that he does not have a bunch of previous visa exempt entries).

if your friend is from a G-7 member country he should be able to get a 30 day visa exemption for a land border run versus the 15 day.  Depends on his country of citizenship.
