August 23, 20169 yr Hello All, Please can someone kindly help translate the Thai script on my departure card (photo attached - sorry for the bad quality). Background: received 30 day visa exemption at Chiang Khong (UK citizen) and immigration officer wrote something on my departure card at the time (normally I get a visa before I come to Thailand). He was a very pleasant guy but he did ask me lots of questions about what I will do in Thailand and when I will leave (he even asked me for a confirmed flight ticket which I did not have). I told him the truth and said I planned to leave Thailand on the 27th August. But since then, my plans have changed and I would like to stay longer. He did not write anything in my passport and the stamp in it says I can stay up to 30th August. I know I can apply for a visa extension on the 30th August but now I am really worried that they will refuse me a visa extension because maybe he recorded on the immigration system that I said I would leave on the 27th August (the date he wrote on my departure card). Please can someone help. Thank you so much, Lynne.
August 24, 20169 yr That hand written note on your departure card means nothing. What is important is the admitted until date on the your entry stamp. You will not have a problem applying for the 30 day extension. If you are worried about the note you could loose the card with no repercussions.
