no matter what is published by any Thai government authority the well informed Farang eggsburts prove with razorsharp logic that the information is wrong  :gigglem:

Sorry Naam, I have to disagree with you!

There is no argument that these figures from TAT are impressive! One only hopes that for Thailand's sake it can sustain these numbers for a while.

The data (available from the TAT web site - http://www.tourism.go.th/home/listcontent/11/221/276) show that arrivals from China totalled almost as much as the next six countries combined.

The top 20 countries (together with the Jan-Jul totals for 2015 and 2016) are:

    2015 2016 % Diff.

Does anyone notice the pattern here? I read the Business section of a well known Thai newspaper and its amazing 99% of the articles are always leaning to the positive side. I.E. After the referendum was over confidence in Thailand was reestablished and foreign investments have come pouring in. Mutual funds bullish on stock market. B of T comment the baht has been "propelled" upward by Thailands economic readings. Regus Thailand expects growing demand for space from new economic startups. Samsung optimistic about Thailand smart phone growth. Toyota upbeat on MPV sales prospects. DPO aims to meet growing milk demand and that is just one issue. The list of glowing comments just goes on and on. Is Thailand an isolated island of prosperity?

Glad to see that Tourists from many countries are still coming to Thailand!

I plan on being one of them , this coming Winter. I hope that there are a

few others from Canada as I like to chat with someone I can understand,  as there

are  times when I cannot understand a European with a strong accent, ha ha.  I am okay with most of

the fellow travellers from Britain , Spain, Australia and even NZ.       Geezer
