BANGKOK, 25 August 2016 (NNT) – A dedicated group of Thai students from Bangkok's Yothinburana School were awarded third place at the 7th ASEAN Quiz Regional Competition that just took place in Lao PDR.

Lao PDR won the overall competition with a score of 415, followed by the Philippines, who scored 285, while Thailand was close behind at 270.

One of the Thai contestants, Supawish Limprasert, said that he was glad to join the competition as the experience and friendship among ASEAN friends was priceless. Another member of the Thai team, Suphong Plangsothorn, added how exciting it was for him to be at his first competition and his first time in another country.

Chaichan Kamkom, the only female team member, said that she was proud to get this recognition for Thailand at the 7th ASEAN Quiz Regional Competition.

The Laotian team was awarded a cash prize of $1,500 USD, while the Thai team was awarded $900 USD for its third place finish.

ASEAN Quiz?

Another prestigious non-event. It's difficult to see the point of these competitions if the details are not going to be published. Thailand gets a place again in the 3-yearly disabled Inuit whale meat tasting competition. Only Thailand and the National Republic of Inuit took part.

It's just as bogus as paying a team of people to trawl the internet looking for honorary doctorates for certain people to impress the public and themselves.
