You can apply for a 30 day extension of the 60 day entry from a METV.

You will need a completed TM7  form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached. Your passport plus copy of the photo page, visa, entry stamp and TM6 departure card.

Many people with METV's are skipping the 30 day extension and going out for a new 60 day entry because they compare the 1900 baht for 30 days to what it costs to get 60 days by doing a border hop.

Since the METV allows unlimited 60 day entries the only time a 30 day extension is needed is for the last entry after the visa has expired.

Usually, for extension of a tourist entry, no proof of address is needed when staying in a hotel. Of course, as usual, an immigration office can choose to ask for anything, but I doubt they will.

Yes Jomtien, reportedly, do want proof of address even if staying in a hotel.
