Manhunt launched for bus driver who fatally assaulted and robbed a passenger

Police have launched a manhunt for a bus driver who allegedly attacked a woman passenger and robbed her of her valuables.

The bus driver, identified as Watcharin Prathumporn, is on the run after he allegedly attacked the lone passenger in the bus, Mrs Boonpen Punyo, 56, on a dirt road which is not the normal route used by buses of the Roi-et-Buri Ram bus service. The victim died from serious face and head wounds after she was hospitalized.

The incident took place on Saturday night on a dirt road in Ban Dong Bak Nong Taten, Tambon Na Seenuan, Payak Poompisai district of Maha Sarakham province.

The Roi-et-Buri Ram bus got stuck in the dirt road and was left abandoned there. Curious villagers went on board and found blood trail and alerted their village headman who then alerted the district police.

The found the injured woman passenger in the bushes not far away from the bus and rushed her to the district hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The victim’s daughter told police that she managed to talk with her mother on the phone who said she was in danger and that she might be killed.

Police later questioned the bus owner, Mr Supol Boonkerd, who said he received a call from the driver, Watcharin, saying only that he was driving the bus back to Payak Poompisai district after offloading all the passengers in Roi-et.

Supol further said Watcharin used to be a bus assistant before he was upgraded as the driver and that he had behaved well all along.

Why why why do people do these things......:(

Wont be long before he's in custody. Guys like this don't have the financial or mental resources to evade the law long term.

Found this picture on the Thai interweb. Hope this guy gets his soon!

When the police find this animal, better just to put him down, waste

of space and resources keeping him locked up.

Its as if there is no hesitation between Impulse and Action.

There is no inner voice that says this is not a good idea.

These are the kind of people that prisons are full of. They have no place in society.

They are animals.

Leave him alone for a few minutes at the re-enactment.

Was he planning to dump her in the boonies and then get back on the main road but got stuck?  It's very weird.

Why do the police say it was a fatal assault

Call it what it is Murder

Catch and shoot him

That saves a lot of expenses

Lone female passenger on a bus at night - too much temptation. Buddhism, living in the moment, has its downside, if you factor in the bad guys.

The kill-kill-kill brigade is there again.

Don't you see you belong in the same group as this murderer?

What does religion have to do with it?  Could've been a muslim, jew, buddhist, christian, or atheist.

Or alcohol, more likely...which by the way is already legal!

If you don't understand bow living in the moment differentiates Buddhism, then you won't understand my comment.

He drove her out in the sticks first before killing her so it is premeditated murder, hopefully he gets the death sentence.

Your right

It seems to me that part n' parcel of becoming a Thai bus driver you need to have some deep psychotic defect considering how many of these loonatics have been seen to lose the plot one way or the other. I don't want ambushed by statistics from around the globe about other nutters.

However, Thailand seems to get it's fair share though.

Unfortunately, the little wisdom that the world possesses, was introduced by lunatics. :coffee1:

Exactly what he claims.

He has been caught somewhere in Maha Sarakham province and confessed.

He was hiding out in shack on the fields.

Report found in Thai language only (not allowed to link).

His mother(?) crying over him.

Just seen the news report about his capture:

Bus driver ‘on yaba’ caught after killing female passenger to steal her gold
http://bangkok.coconuts.co/2016/08/31/bus-driver-yaba-caught-after-killing-female-passenger-steal-her-gold

He told officers that seeing how much gold she was wearing gave him the idea to commit the crime. After picking her up, he drove a different route than usual and then stopped and hit her in the back of her head with a hammer.

It is certainly a uniquely "Thai" story.

The cops would have done the world a favour if they had treated him like a rabid dog.  The murdered girl can never come back and resume her life, why should he have one.

Yes.

Its like the step-dad who raped his 18-month old step-dayghter. When asked why he said he was horny.

My dogs show greater ability to think before they act than these guys do.

Is it nature or nurture that creates these miscreants?

I believe that was more of a rhetorical question, on your part,  was it not?........:whistling:

After running out of other solutions, Prayut has confirmed that all inactive posts have been used up and now he invokes Section 44 to allow the villagers to do as they wish with this animal.
