August 31, 20169 yr Dear all I'm a bit of a dumbo on compters. I have had adesktop for years in the house and only I use it. I need to leave Thailand for several months and wish to store my computer with a friend. When I open up my computer it just comes on my name as the 'user' and I click. I now wish to put some form of password in but, for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it. I've been round and round thecontrol panel but can't figure it out. Can anyone one help. I'm sure it's simple to others. I have Windows 7. Thank you
August 31, 20169 yr Windows 7 From the Start menu, select Control Panel. ... Under "User Accounts", click Change your Windows password. ... Under "Make changes to your user account", click Set a password. In the "New password" and "Confirm new password" fields, enter the password. For confirmation of the above google "put password in win 7"

August 31, 20169 yr And don't forget it until you return in a couple of months If your friend is computer smart it would not hinder him to get access to your data (if that is a concern). Edited August 31, 20169 yr by KhunBENQ
