Yes you right that would be a huge problem indeed if they too noisy, maybe in the future they can harness solar power through the windows instead, I saw some initiative regarding although not sure about the efficiency level we reached so far yet with these technologies, probably still not worth it to invest.

Yes, but what about windmills out in the Gulf, or in the Andaman. Miles offshore. Where nobody sees them? There are countless progressive ideas, that I doubt have ever even been studied here, due to a horrendous lack of progressive thought.

Or even harnessing power from the waves, plenty of beaches as well in Thailand and they would not be an eyesore if they placed deeper in the sea even can use it as a tsunami alarm system or marine life monitoring as well... You right about the progressive ideas, they should promote green sustainable solutions instead of the current situation, well at least on the long term...

You are welcome to move to North Korea, if it bothers you so much that we enjoy our morning coffee in these nice airconned temples commercialism.

You need help with booking the ticket?

An oily proposition from a person in a dying trade.  Ticket yourself.   Who cares your inconvenience at the thought of being removed from another insult to the environment?

As I stated earlier in this thread, promoting green solution would be a progressive idea. It simply will not happen. My earlier post:

But that is a progressive idea. This nation has spent decades doing everything in it's power to avoid doing anything progressive. On some levels, it is one of the least progressive, or open minded nations in ASEAN. Alternative simply does not exist in the Thai vocabulary. Do it the normal way. Do not think outside the box. Do not consider possibilities that lower your dependence on electricity, fossil fuels, or your neighbors. That would be too forward thinking.

They just do not have progressive minds. They are not taught to think outside of some very small boxes. I am not referring to all Thais, but certainly to those in power. Those that are in power are mind numbingly closed minded, and unwilling to entertain new ideas, concepts, says of thinking, ways of action, planning, or solutions. They just plod on, oblivious of any alternatives. Of course green solutions are the way to go. But, will we see them in our lifetimes? Who are the visionary leaders of the future here? Where will they come from? Where are they being nurtured or cultivated? The educational system here almost insures a lack of creativity, from the very start. Things have to change. When will that start happening?

A dying trade? Have you look at the streets of Asia recently?

Oil consumption is up, up and up, especially since crude oil dropped below $50.
