New Born Baby In Thailand

Featured Replies

My gf is pregnant and she wants to go back to Bangkok..she wants to get baby in Bangkok..

Somebody help me......plz..

- If we get the baby in the hospotal in Bangkok,my baby would be thai citizen automatically?

- Is it possible to deny his thai nationality and take him back here and register to be only Dutch?

- Or,if he would be thai citizen by his birth certificate..do we need to do any document later in Thailand to change his nationality when he gets the Dutch nationality ?

Thanks..

this is a link to the Thai Consulate in vancouver but the rules will all be the same. http://www.thaicongenvancouver.org/cserviceindex.htm

the way i read it is that if you were married the child would be Thai no matter where you lived but because you are not married i think the child would be classes as from the country that it was born in.

It'd only be Thai if you claimed Thai citizenship. I'm presuming that the mother is Thai.
