Hi,

I'd like to know what's different between "Non B to conduct business in Thailand" and "Non B to work in Thailand".

Here's my situation. 6 months ago, we didn't have any company registered in Thailand, and just applied a Non b "to conduct business" and applied 6 months trial BOI. And now our company found that Thailand is a great market to open a business so we finally registered company 1 week ago successfully.  And I need to get a new non B as my old one was expired (Thinking to go to Ho chi min city consulate at the end of this month).

In this case should I apply "Non B to conduct business in Thailand" or "Non B to work in Thailand"?

Thanks in advance.

The only difference between the two are the paperwork to get them.

You will need proof of a work permit application being done prior to getting one for working at any nearby location.. You would not be able get one for business purposes nearby.

General requirements are here for both. http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/4908/15388-Non-Immigrant-Visa-"B"-(for-Business-and.html

I think I need to apply "to conduct business" type. However I'm going to apply non-b in Vietnam as I will go there as a business trip soon. However I cannot prepare all the docs such as 'residency visa in VN' or 'company registration in VN' etc...

BOI officer gave me a special letter to submit to the embassy to apply Non B visa in Vietnam. In this case, even I don't prepare all the docs do you think I can still get the visa?

The BOI letter is meant to bypass the work permit application proof.

You would still need the other supporting documents to get the non-b visa unless the BOI  letter is to apply for a non-ib visa.

Our officer said, "This letter will help you to get Non-B visa" so, I'm not sure what exactly it is. I might email to BOI officer to double check thanks for your help!!
