Demolition of 19 illegal resorts on Pu Tabberk mountain finished

PETCHABUN, 8 September 2016 (NNT) – Demolition of 19 resorts illegally built on Pu Tabberk mountain in Petchabun province has been finished.

Atthaphol Charoenchansa, director of the Forestry Department's Office of Forest Protection and Fire Control, said that a demolition team has successfully dismantled the 19 illegal resorts on Pu Tabberk mountain under the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO)'s interim constitution's article 44.

Most of the illegally built units had been demolished by the owners of the resorts. It would take a few days for the demolition team to remove the debris for which about 20-30 heavy-duty trucks would be used, he said.

He added that the Forestry Department will coordinate with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to improve the landscape around the dismantled resorts.
