They can also, of course, not publish it!

Yes as you say highly selective , killed by his father who was safe and as i remember working , just another economic migrant , rip to the child .

You do not need to post that picture on line... probably one of the most iconic photos of the 70's, it has been emblazoned on my mind for nearly fifty years, I recall a interview with the woman that was that girl a few years back, probably that picture got her the best medical treatment at the time and a new life, not to say the injuries must have been life changing and probably still has the scares and pain today. 

She lives in Montreal Canada now she is married with children, she has her own foundation, she had multiple skin graphs 

over the years so she does look good still has scars for sure mostly on her body.

As I recall there was also film footage of her running...

 

That photo may have been lifted from that film footage.

 

But yes, even many Americans said it was not their war.
