You can not cross the border and visit the temple from the Thai side!

Thanks for that. It is the same as last time we were there .  Amazing though to stand in the Wat surrounded by bunkers and razor wire.

Did you go from the Cambodia side? If so how did you travel there - taxi from Anlong Venh/ some other quasi-backpacking/public transport approach?

 

Any travel intel welcome - thinking of doing it sometime when rainy season has long passed (Camby roads can be dodgy up until December).

 

I did manage to get to the wat 8 plus years ago before the silly kiddy armies started needlessly knocking 7 bells out of each other. There were no obvious defences back then although there was a military presence

My T-shirt is darn near faded out. It has the words Khao Phra Wihan and a drawing of the complex on the front almost gone. I got the shirt April 2008, two months later June 2008 it all changed.
