CHUMPHON: -- Chatting online led to the violent death of a Chumporn flower seller on Sunday.

Her jealous husband  dragged her into a bedroom above their shop and smashed her head into the floor, killing her, reported Thairath.

Police were called to the central business area of the southern Thai town after neighbors heard a violent argument. They found the "Ton Nun Flower" shop front grill open but all was quiet inside.

There were signs of a struggle so they went upstairs where they found a locked bedroom door. Calls to inside went unanswered so they broke down the door and found Kitti Yaoyang, 53, propped up against the wall with his hands covered in blood.

His wife Suwannee Sae-ia, 53, was face down, naked on the floor dead in a pool of blood. He face had been smashed in and her teeth were broken.

Kitti told cops that he was jealous and that they had had frequent arguments about his wife chatting with customers on Facebook and Line.

She had gone out in the morning and when she returned said that she had to make a delivery to a customer.

That is when the fight began downstairs at the three storey property.

He dragged her upstairs and admitted beating her head against the floor after ripping her clothes off.

No, chatting online did NOT lead to the violent death. Marrying a jealous and violent a---hole led to her death.

It's not like the signs weren't there in the first place. I'd bet money that he was violent in the past and she was discouraged by friends, family and culture from leaving him for her own safety. This syndrome occurs worldwide and very little is done to address it. It is found in every socio-economic segment of society.

Have a stadium day in each province, once a week (preferably Saturday) where psychos like this "Kitti" (what a name for such a piece pf trash) have to fight against each other 'til death. The winners have another round next week and so on - no one gets out alive. Before each fight, the crimes of each culprit are explained over speakers in full detail, so these pigs know exactly why they are standing there, in full body armor, Roman-style with the crowd cheering, looking forward to their death...

What a win-win situation! The state would generate billions of THB in entrance fees, and even more given they allow people to place bets officially... The human waste waiting in their cells for their 3 minutes of "fame" would live in constant fear of dying. Wannabe future culprits know that most likely they will end up in the stadium, etc. etc. - it would generate a whole new dimension of income opportunities AND - tax payers would not have to pay for such human waste to be kept alive in expensive prison facilities... Think about it!

It seems they never let the truth get in the way of a good headline here.

A more accurate one may have been "Jealous husband savagely beats his wife to death".

Maybe so, but it is worse in some places than others.

Quote

wife beating occurs more often in

societies in which men have economic and

decision-making power in the household, where

women do not have easy access to divorce, and

where adults routinely resort to violence to resolve

their conflicts

World Health Organisation report

In Papua New Guinea, 67% of women have experienced a physical assault by their partner whereas in the UK it's 30% and the US 22%.

20% of women in Thailand said that they had been assaulted by their current partner whereas in Australia it was 8%.

That's exactly what the Romans built the Coliseum for ...
