BANGKOK: -- The Constitution Drafting Committee will not interfere with independent organizations in the drafting of their own codes of conduct, CDC chairman Meechai Ruchuphan said on Tuesday.

He said each independent organization is free to draft its own code of conduct within one-year deadline, failing that the organization will be dissolved. But once they have completed with the drafting, the documents will be sent to the cabinet, the National Legislative Assembly and the National Reform Steering Assembly for consideration before they are implemented.

The CDC doesn't have to interfere, just look at the level of supervision from three powerful bodies including the cabinet so ' independent ' organizations will be kept very much under control.

Meechai just loves being in the media  but there again which Thai official doesn't and talking sense isn't a prerequisite.

So institutions can put into place values that reflect the homeland's true values? Wear this color on this day or you lose your job. Every office must have a religious icon and pictures that reflect wholesome nationalist and Thainess values. When addressing those above you, you must use titles from the social hierarchy as it is Thainess and not all people are equal after all. Those who work in this institution will be able to recite the 12 core values pushed forward by Prayuth. Once hired an employee will have one year to attended a 'special program' on Thai values offered to Thai-blooded citizens. Until that is complete the employee will be considered temporary. Etc etc etc. And all these will be approved in one years time prior to an elected government.

The key issue for these so-called "independent" organisations is how members are appointed and who appoints them directly or indirectly (who appoints the ones who appoints them). And additionally who they appoint, as there are cases of reciprocal appointments between insitutions.

The other issues, such as codes of conduct are just sub-issues.
