PATTAYA: -- At 1.30pm, on the afternoon of september 13, Pol Col Apichai Krobpetch at Pattaya Police Station received reports of a serious fire at the AD Condominiums on Soi 16, Naklua.

The incident happened in room 304 on level 23 on the south side of the building. Fire fighters took twenty minutes to extinguish the blaze.

The room has been destroyed.

The owners, thirty-five year old Ms Neungruthai Srimuangnoi and fifty-year-old British national David Spinks were at their shop, The Health Corner on Soi Naklua 31, when they received the call that their home was on fire.

Investigating officers are assuming that, as the room was empty, the fire must have been caused by an electrical short-circuit, but are awaiting confirmation.

The estimated cost of the damage may reach 500,000 baht.

Nobody has been injured.

Well the cops and the fire department same they both assume ever thing Next case solved

I feel sorry for the owners its a hell of a thing to come home too.

Don't AD pay enough money to keep their name out of the press? This is one of the few stories where premises are actually identified in Pattaya's jaded media.

The only appliance that should be left plugged in is the refrigerator when one leaves home, and a Safe-T Cut should have been installed before moving in...

And how do you know it was not?

Nothing about solved here, as you've assumed. Consider carefully the meaning of "awaiting confirmation." Via their investigation. Most of the solving w/ no waiting for confirmation is done by our CSI: TVF brigade.

I hope the unfortunate owner had some insurance .I would recommend every condo owner to do so average cost 3000 baht per year .....well worth it for peace of mind

I hope they have had a competent structural engineer asses the structural integrity of the building, that looks like it got very hot in there...
