UBON RATCHATHANI: -- A video from national TV shows the latest activities from a school in Ubon opened for the over 60s.

The presenters said the image of the elderly doddering with walking sticks was a thing of the past. The school - called Phibunmangsaharn - represented a new dawn in looking after the older members of society, reported tnamcot.

The video features the activities for the over 60s that included trips outside the school in a minibus, dancing exercises, bike riding and lessons in carving coconut shells.

One organizer states that the program encourages activities that promote good mental health that in turn leads to good physical health.

The commentary on the video further stated that most of the 100 students had free time because they were town residents who were not encumbered with grandchildren like many who live in rural parts of Thailand.

now that is the way to go. giving something meaningful to the seniors the school is providing an excellent service.the seniors too will engage in helpful social activities that could enrich their lives. the school may consider adding on passive kind of hobbies in their curriculum.
