What is going on with Thai post?

Featured Replies

Recently it turns out that there are major issues with Thai post tracking, and delivery of course.

Last week initiated a return to Lazada, which goes by EMS and is paid for by Lazada as you know, but the tracking stops on 16 September when the item arrives at the destination post office.

Then I receive a shipment from overseas and the tracking stops on 18 September when the package leaves from Sriracha post office to the destination office which is 20 km away.

Usually about 4-5 hours after it is dispatched from Sriracha it will show as arrived at Banglamung post office. Now 2 days later they have no knowledge about the package at Banglamung.

Anyone experience similar lately, because this is clearly not my usual experience with Thai post.

Yes have had mail sent to completely incorrect address due action of junior receiving clerk (to wrong area of country) EMS several weeks ago and tracking was completely removed from web site.  Personal visit after 4 days found item still several hundred miles from where it should have been and it then took another 4 days to arrive (admittedly there was a holiday involved).  Have returned to using shophouse agent rather than actual post office since then and no further issues.

The Lazada return is definitely at the correct post office, since the address is Bang Phli, but it has arrived there and in there is no out for delivery even 4 days later.

It is Thai "vegetarian lent" called variously Prapheni Kin Jay or Prapheni Kin Phak depending on where you come from. A not insignificant amount of locals eschew meat during this period and only eat vegetables and it wreaks havoc with business beyond the restaurant trade. Obviously Thailand Post are heavily into it. Should be back to normal by mid-October.

Post office just call to announce that a package from Lazada, which was shipped yesterday and is COD, is ready for delivery and they want to collect money.

Told them that they can put it where the sun doesn't shine if there is no solution about the other 2 packages.

Edit : How strange, post office calls back and says that will deliver the package from overseas also around twelve o'clock, but different postman. Though the tracking still doesn't show that the post office even received it.

I have had 3 different postmen deliver 3 different items to the same address on the same day. EMS or non-EMS are typically by different guys on motorbikes. Why one letter came direct by EMS van I have no clue.

On another thread, the Thailand Post tracking for overseas stuff has been buggered for a few weeks already. Chances are when they deliver the package/letter, only then will their tracking website update.

Yes I understand from the different postmen, but it bothers me extremely about the tracking, especially where the return to Lazada isn't updated for 4 days.

On top of that, if you call Lazada today you get a message that thee experience thechnical difficulties and are not able to answer calls.

Emails or Line app messages are neither answered though.

Would you expect anything less from this wonderful country?

These <removed> have lost no less than 3 packages of mine in the last 4 weeks. All three were EMS. All my enquiries were met with lies and empty promises.

Never, ever again. Courier or hand-deliver is the only way to be sure.

Never a problem here never a missed parcel, EMS or not.. strange that we have such different experiences. I do receive loads of parcels from ebay and just from my dad. Maybe its location related.

Same here never any problems in having parcels delivered to our house from anywhere. I order to my mother though rob not to my dad as he can not be arsed, arrives every time between 7 to 10 days. Just use the normal post office and none of those fancy shipping co's and your stuff will be delivered on time unless it's drugs.

Must be. I also had zero problems for a few years until I moved house.
