Chiang Mai ..Support Family - Thai Child- Member Visa. DETAILS NOW?

Featured Replies

Hi All, For Chiang Mai visa regarding Family member "support of Thai children". Can anyone tell me if the documents have changed or they are the same as always. Please list. TM30 is the only thing I see new needed to have. Also, please list your experience at Chiang Mai airport, a recent experience to queue and interview.. Thank you....

I assume you are asking about applying for an extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon being the parent of a Thai.

Have you applied for one before?

Hi ubonjoe.  Yes as writing this before taking the kids to school I was certainly unclear in detail. It is a 1 year extension after many years and based on Parent of a Thai. I am just asking for the documents and if anything new other than a TM30 is required. TM30 just took care of that the other day, but seems to be always something no matter what every year with CM immigration.

Once the kids are 18, can they sponsor me being the other way around? I recall this being of topic at one point or the other. Yes am over 50.

Not sure about the age requirement but I think they would have to older than 18 to support you the way it is written in the police order.

From clause 2.18 (5) of police for 327/2557.

Quote

In case the father of mother requests to be under maintenance of children, the age of father or mother must be 50 years of age or over.

I have seen no posts of anybody doing it since they put it in the clause 2 years ago.

ubonjoe. Me either. But maybe will rock the boat one day in the next 5 yrs.

So, is there any new documents needed for Parent of Thai?

Also, what the heck is this Foreign National Information Form (FNIF)??? Someone who did a retirement up in CM said he and his Mrs had to do one... I amazed at things if this is another hoop.

As far as I know there is nothing new but cannot answer for what might be needed.

The form asks for a lot of personal info. Here is one as an example but cannot be sure it would be accepted at CM.

Thank you ubonjoe. What a full load of BS. Why on earth would they want our mode of transportation details. Good thing I have nothing in my name, all except the GPS tracking cell phone that is... I have nothing to hide, but I do cherish my privacy. Looks as if they will be looking to install chips in us very soon.

So Communist in sooooo many ways. They must be proud, or "HE" must be SO proud of himself.

Yeah, I think nothing new for the documents on the Parent of Thai extension.
