Image: Sanook SRI RACHA:-- Two roads built three years ago in Sri Racha have one fundamental problem - they don't join up in the middle. One section of the road was built by the Laem Chabang authority while the other was constructed by the Nakorn Chao Praya Surasak administration a few moths later. But they never joined - locals have to traverse a muddy patch of waste ground to make the connection and it's driving them nuts. Even drainage ditches don't connect. Now while the contractor is willing to join them up the question still remains as to who is going to pay for the work! When they built the 50km-long Channel Tunnel (from either end), it was within millimetres when they broke through in the middle, and it followed a certain layer of rock which curved both vertically and horizontally. Because thai engineers arent the sharpest knives in the drawer. Look at some of the footbridges where you have to step over the power lines. Wheel chair ramps on a 45 or steeper angle. sahibji Posted September 25, 2016 Share Posted September 25, 2016 this is a serious problem as even the drains are not aligned. you wonder how some floods come about. what is even more shocking is that work was accepted by the authorities. payment should have been withheld until correction of the problem. did the two contractors have a different set of engineering drawings?
