Couple killed in small tofu factory fire in Ratchaburi

RATCHABURI: -- A couple were killed when a fire engulfed a small black tofu factory in Ratchaburi's Photharam district early Monday.

 

Police said Somchai Jittaleela, 66, his wife, Piyawan Jittaleela, 65, were trapped on the second floor when the fire started on the floor at 2:30 am.

 

The couple were staying at the factory and their charred bodies were found after the fire was put out.

Two died from suffocation at bean curd factory in Ratchaburi

 

 

RATCHABURI: -- An elderly couple died from suffocation in a predawn fire at a bean curd factory in Photaram district of Ratchaburi province on Monday.

 

Photaram police said the fire happened at a two-storey factory building on Soi Rat-uthit road in Photaram town a 2.30am.

 

The fire was reported starting from the room where Mr Somchai Chitakeela, 66, and his wife Piyawan , 65, were sleeping, and quickly engulfed the whole floor as large quantity of paper boxes and clothes were stored.

 

Six fire engines rushed to the scene but could keep the fire under control in two hours.

 

The two were trapped in their room and suffocated to death.
