TOT endorses cost frameworks for village internet program

BANGKOK, 26 September 2016 (NNT) - TOT Public Company Limited has endorsed in principle a budget proposal for a village internet program.

A recent board meeting chaired by General Surapong Suwanna-adth agreed to endorse the proposal for a village internet program developed under the government’s a civil-state policy.

Internet coverage will be established in 28,000 villages nationwide to raise the standards of telecommunications across the country and promote economic growth. TOT has been given a budget of 9.4 million baht to procure the necessarily equipment according to government regulations.

To expedite the implementation process, TOT signed a procurement contract with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. It has a year from the date of the contract signing to complete the program.

" ...a village internet program developed under the government’s a civil-state policy."
