Flew Business Class on Thai Airlines the other day from Tokyo on a new Air Bus 380-800....nice trip until we got to Suvarnabhumi Airport and was told that they had no Fast Track cards for the Premium Lane at Immigration?   Said they no longer hand them out????  Just another reason not to fly Thai Airlines in the first place......????

i have never experienced any real time advantage with these priority cards. with the amount of people receiving these cards today, often the priority lanes are more crowded than the others.

what i really like, however, is that thai airways first & business check - in at suv (lane1) has its own immigration, customs and security section that you don't share with anyone other than thai airways first & business class customers . gets you through in minutes.

Now why has no one ever told me about this?  Very strange if it really is true?????

Following is from a recent post on flyertalk:

"for arrival: there are actually two major immigration areas for the majority of the customers
Premium lanes for vouchers are between those two areas (I have been refused entrance with TG J ticket there) while the fast track for TG is in the main area opposite to gate D4 (eastern side) on the right side when you enter; recently there were also some fast track lines for TG on the left side of that area"

I have been using the main area opposite to gate D4 on the right side for several years and for more than 20 arrivals per year (including when flying economy on short flights with gold or platinum card) without any problem. If you are not familiar with the airport then the location(s) of the fast track for TG arrivals may not be that obvious. I also cannot recall the cabin crew informing passengers about the location, since handing out fast track cards stopped.

You don't need a fast track card if you fly in F or J on Thai, which is why they don't hand them out.  All you do is show your Thai F or J boarding pass and you can traverse the Premium Lanes (note: this is only for Thai Airways....if you are on another airline you'll need the fast track card to use the Premium Lanes.)

I have never been given any fast track cards by Thai Airways, I just go to the fast track counter and give the "Royal Silk" boarding pass to the agent and they always proceed without further questions.

Just show your business class boarding pass next time. Never been refused.

I've not had a Fast-Track card on Thai for over a year now - when I asked I was told to use the Boarding Pass as they don't issue the Fast-Track cards.  You don't need them after check-in either, as you just go direct to the Thai Airways express area at the end of the check in counters.

But if you need a reason to not fly Thai - then it's the fact that almost half of their flights board using a bus rather than an air-bridge, including the A380 which takes an age using buses and steps.

Total BS as the Airport is Thai Airways Hub and as such gets priority parking. As far as the bus goes, again BS. Its actually better using the bus as it drops you off much closer to immigration eliminating the long walk from the far gate parking areas.

Actually I travel a lot. But Im not lazy, nor have an issue riding a bus if necessary, dont mind walking from gates, dont mind standing in lines and and I don't whine about such unimportant things.

I've never had a card from Thai when arriving in business at BKK. Arrived many times since 2008. Just go to the right queue and show your boarding pass. Easy.

I came in on Emirates from Hong Kong on 24 September business class and Emirates passed out the Priority cards  with the Thai immigration arrival cards in the businesss class seats.

As I was flying with a wheelchair from the airline, I probably wouldn;t have needed the Priority card anyhow, as passwgers using wheelchairs are now routinely wheeled trough Priotity immigration anyhow.

I am not sure if this is standard practice from Emirtaes or not, but on this flight from Hong kong they definately handed out Priority cards to all  busines class passengers.

They use a different set of queues. Thai boarding pass holders don't need cards.
