BANGKOK: -- WITH more heavy rain expected to hit the capital this week, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has instructed officials to monitor main roads as well as 300 flood-prone secondary roads and housing estates.

The BMA also dispatched pumps to drain water from flood-hit communities along Klong Prem Prachakorn in Don Muang district while district chief Wandee Sonchai admitted drainage was made particularly difficult because the swollen canal was the district's main drainage channel.

It is YS, she is the one to blame. Let her pay for the damages of the coming flood, say another B 32 bn ?

My thoughts precisely, every day a different opinion, find it easier to take all announcements with a grain of salt, doesn't appear any one knows what is happening. Seems like a fixation with grabbing headlines. Yes Jeez, here we go again.

I don't believe in this flooding. We have a government and 44. How can be somewhere flooding when Mr. Prayut say no flooding, everything is under control !!!

Swim suit time

...and when the jet ski scammers take over from the motorbike taxi jockeys the sporty Lady will announce: "beside Pokémon, we have a new tourist attraction."

Always look on the bright side.

have to wonder about all those septic tanks getting flooded and back washed. can 44 be used to control septic tank backwash?

When they say "Bangkok" it means the business-area only...they also have huge pump/canalsystems now since the flooding of 2011 so it shouldn't happen there at all. Also for the river-developmentplans it shows their priority....1-2-3 billion baht budget for places not close to the businessarea but 20!! billion budget for the "real BKK" chaopraya plans.

The rest of BKK has no priority so yes it sure can get flooded.

If BKK does flood, it could wash away a few annoying pests.

Hurry up all you rich expats gobble up those luxury condo's in Bangkok. Get in on the ground floor now before the flood. Buying a condo in Bangkok is like being up a creek without a paddle. Every year it will only get worse till the Mother of all storms arrives sometime in the future. Most of the problems seem to be clogged Klongs.
