September 30, 20169 yr Decades ago; I taught in the inner-city, Newark, NJ. The absolute worse!! ....handcuffs and a kick in the side.....I carried a switch blade and .22 and this was the" good old days"..... (One semester was enough). Some of these "students" are just criminals waiting for a cell!!
September 30, 20169 yr So in this case they name the school, but when it's a "prestigious/hi-so" school/university in Bangkok, you're left guessing.

September 30, 20169 yr They have a big problem with discipline in Thai schools. I remember a perfectly reasonable Thai female teacher telling me the only way she could control the classes was by carrying around a stick. This was a Master's, went from home to husband. It isn't a cultural problem. She couldn't deal with it, except by caŕrying a stick.

September 30, 20169 yr Clearly indicates deeper problems when violence in this environment becomes evident. I am happy my children are not educated in this system. Edited September 30, 20169 yr by damo
September 30, 20169 yr Having read other news reports in Thai language, the 14 year old boy destroyed 2 students mobile phones. Later that same day he had Taikwondo class in which the P.E teacher said he was kicked in the ribs by those students whose mobile phones had been destroyed. He went home and blamed the P.E teacher and came back to school with his grandma to make a complaint. This is from my google translating. I could be wrong.http://workpointtv.com/%E0%B8%A2%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A2%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%A2-14-%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%88%E0%B9%89%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%84%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A1-%E0%B8%AB/
