It will never get out of the Philippines never mind make it to the Thai customs officer's wife's wrist/neck!
What do you honestly think will happen when the Philippine's customs see a box with over an ounce of pure gold jewellery on the bill of lading label? :cheesy:

(Honestly, I could do without the sarcasm)

I didn't think customs were checking outward bound items. Are they? Customs check inward bound items. DHL and FedEx do everything by the book, which is why they are expensive. I wasn't going to stick in a box and send it through regular mail, hoping for the best.

I (honestly) would have  no worries about DHL or FedEx getting it safely to Thailand if that is what I wanted to do. It would be insured for the value of the item as full value would be disclosed. This is not a huge shipment with value of only about 60,000 baht.

The problem is getting it through Thai customs. I'm concerned about the costs, not whether or not it will arrive.

Anyway, thanks again to the contributors here. I have decided against shipping it.
