When the Euro was introduced why was the UK not forced to accept it? If our laws are imposed on us by Europe why are we not in the Euro? Because we decided not to. Who determines our income and corporate taxes? We do. If our rules are imposed by Europe how can this be so? British people determine their own rules and regulations more than any Thai person, today and in the past. Today Thais have no say at all in government, the country is not a democracy.

Read the Maastricht treaty, Lisbon Treaty, Rome Treaty and then say the UK make their own laws.

You are right about the fact the UK opted out of the Euro. It wasn't easy, it was a fight, because the EU knew that the UK would leave the EU if it imposed and forced the Euro on us. The EU harassed and hounded the UK government to try and force the UK into that. A bit like the bullying tactics they are employing now as the UK are finally leaving.

So British people make their own laws do they?   Why can't we send back hate preachers and other criminals to their home country. European law.  Not British law the European Human Rights convention. There are thousands more laws that British people do not make and are made in Brussels.

Tells it all in here.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relationship_between_the_European_Court_of_Justice_and_European_Court_of_Human_Rights

The EU's Treaty of Lisbon, in force since 1 December 2009, requires the EU to accede to the convention in Article 6 of the consolidated Treaty on European Union: "The Union shall accede to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Such accession shall not affect the Union's competences as defined in the Treaties." The EU would thus be subject to its human rights law and external monitoring as its member states currently are. It is further proposed that the EU join as a member of the Council of Europe now it has attained a single legal personality in the Lisbon Treaty.[8][9]

The ECHR and ECJ cannot overrule the Supreme Court

And a worthy intention indeed - but if the EHCR is not functioning to the satisfaction of its members, it is incumbent upon them to resolve the issue. However Abu Hamza is currently serving a life sentence in the US - so the due process of law was followed.

But its nonsense to suggest the ECHR rules over UK courts.

Look at sections 2,3 and 4 of the Human Rights Act 1998, (UK law)

Where was I telling lies? Are you reading the same thread. I did not say the words I clearly pointed out that someone did. There is a discrepancy of who said the actual words but they were said. Where is the lie?

Certain posters have started playing games to try to get other posters suspended Gravy. Don't get suckered in like I (and it looks like a couple of others) did .
