ABORTION is a legal choice for Zika-infected women.

BANGKOK: -- "A panel of at least two doctors will provide close consultation to parents in discussing the option of pregnancy termination in microcephaly cases," Dr Tawee Chotpitayasunond, a specialist at the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, a unit of the Medical Services Department, said yesterday.

Under Thai law, pregnancies may be terminated on reasonable grounds such as a serious disease when the foetus is not over 24 weeks old.

Late last week, Thailand confirmed its first two cases of microcephaly, a birth defect marked by small head size that has been linked to Zika.

I find this total hypocrisy as usual. Either a life is a life or it isn't. If they are going to have shrunken heads, they can be aborted but if not they can't? I'm all for abortion on demand; I just think the people who ban it are hypocrites.

It ought to be the woman's right to choose in Thailand, because the male will quite probably run away.......

yeah, fill your boots with doing a Zika test;

- but they better make certain, before termination, by also testing for:

 - the presence of the  pesticide pyriproxyfen

Zika is becoming another excuse for early abortions

Abortion should be legal (and even encouraged in many situations) around the world. The woman's choice alone, with no questions asked.

  • 3 months later...

Making abortion illegal in any country isn't about religion or morals - it's simply rules made up by men who want to have control over women. It's pathetic.

It's a woman's body and it's a woman's choice. Anyone who 'accidentally' gets a woman pregnant and then becomes indignant because she wants to have an abortion should simply be more careful next time. Bag it up or don't proceed with sex at all.

Also, you can't have abortion in countries that have the death penalty. You, sir, are not pro life. Or, if you still think you're pro life, you can pay more in taxes for parents who wanted to abort. You can help support that parent personally. Nah? Didn't think so.
