Opening Up An Hsbc Bank Account

Recommended Posts

HSBC seems to be very widespread in all parts of Asia. I would like to have an account with them, they seem very professional.

All I have is a tourist visa (2 month + 1 month extension) and a couple apartments with addresses, and of course a passport. I can get a letter of referral from someone Thai, but I don't know if they have an HSBC account or not.

Sound okay to you? I don't work here, I will invest later, but I want to have an HSBC account so I can travel in Asia without any banking problems. I don't have a non-immigrant visa yet, but I may later.

Any suggestions, caveats, etc?

As far as I'm aware HSBC have one branch in Thailand and that's Bangkok

If you're travelling Asia as you say, do yourself a favour and open an account in Singapore with HSBC if you prefer. So much easy to communicate with both language and technology

If you have an HSBC account in another country they can give you a letter of referral to open an account with the sole branch of HSBC in Thailand which is in Bangkok.
