Latest Suvannakhet Requirements Non O based on Marriage?

Featured Replies

Could someone advise the latest requirements please i.e. paperwork needed etc?

Is proof of 400k baht still not required?

Times for submission? Collection (next day now right)?

Cheap hotels nearby Embassy?

Safe parking at Bridge (thai side)?

Many thanks in advance

Up to date info here.

Hotels and etc here.

In case the topics posted by UJ don't list the Covered parking at the Thai Border, here are the GPS coordinates

N16.60229° E104.72387°

And here the entrance in Google Streetview:

https://goo.gl/maps/S48fB3E4Sau

It's opposite the office of Savan Vegas Casino and they charge 250 THB per day

There is also a non-covered (free) parking a bit further towards the Border but good luck finding a spot there as it's usually very busy (read full)

I don't think you would like it now as there was construction going on from 8am-5pm when I was there last week

Avalon or aura in Savanakhet looks the popular choices both close enough to walk up to embassy. I'm taking the car over with us gives us a bit more freedom staying a couple of days.arrive day before then put visa application in next day pick up day after. Don't want to be rushing around

Gazyllions of bungalows and guesthouses a few hundreds meters away (going toward the town), mostly ask 400-500THB  per night, however going further down the main road, you can also find places for half that if you are only looking for a place to sleep with very basic amenities, looking up on Google will show you many places with pictures and all the other details ...

I stayed there and it was great, just across the road next to the river is a restaurant owned by the Police Chief which was excellent, they were all trying to fix me up with a waitress for the night funny how that never happens in the UK!

Avalon as previously suggested is a good, new building just around the corner from the Thai Consulate, bit of a trek into town at night though!
