Your an immigration lawyer . Your job is to process/assist people who are needing or are applying for a visa.

Of course you're only going to be seeing people who are happy or the girl is waiting to get the visa before she shows her true colours!

agreed. in my 10 years in thailand i have never seen it work between any thai and westerner. as soon as it becomes financially beneficial to the thai girl to leave she is gone. in 3 cases i personally know of they left children behind to go pursue richer men. the attempts at relationships i have seen have been almost comical. thailand is a paradise for a single male, i dont know why guys deal with relationships.

You miss the point that it is only economic disadvantage that makes young girls look at, and marry, old farts who retire here. I'm not  saying it's 'wrong', of course it's not wrong, but that is a FACT.  She get's the Money he get's the Honey and that is an exchange and what's bad about it?  nothing but let's not fool ourselves.

 

I had an old fat farang friend who married 25 year younger and swore it was 'love' and he met this 'waitress' in BKK or Pattaya. He was well off but ugly as shit but he convinced himself and if he's happy and his true love' is happy who cares?  the only thing that makes me feel nauseous is that he believes it.

Well as long as he doesn't get ripped off, there's worse fates than believing in a little fantasy in your old age. Much better than a reality of rotting alone in an old age home where no one cares about you.

well thats the problem.  basically every old guy in thailand with a young hottie believes it and the thai girls are great at making us believe it. it basically always ends up in tears.  i have 2 kids with a thai girl and she is a great mum but i am not kidding myself. i support her and make sure she id better off staying with me and our kids. pay them a decent salary, it is cheaper in the long run and everyone wins.

Smart, sensible and realistic. Enjoy life and you have it figured out and it's doubtful you will end up another sad and lonely old man. Personally I wouldn't want to be tied down with one woman but we all have different needs. Good luck.

Also don't kid yourself into thinking women in the west aren't interested in money.  Once you have no money they will find other things to blame the break up on that will be the reason.

I have a friend who is in 40s, married a 20s stunner, obviously showered her with money to get her attention

 

what annoyed me the most when I was having a few minor problems with my GF (Non thai, similar age to me, one child from previous relationship) he said "come to thailand, you can get a far better looking, younger and without a child"

 

What these guys do with their lives is none of my business, and if they are happy then im happy for you, but dont get cocky or think you are some casanova and forget/deny the fact that they are in it for the Money/visa

Lol same as in the west.  The amount of money girls spend is impressive.  She will spend her pay packet and then half of yours too. Of course not in it for the money just wants to date an ambitious guy /s Obviously not all girls are like this but a lot are.  Which ever way you do it girls are usually expensive.

The age thing is not really a problem as beautiful people look good at any age. What bothers me is seeing ugly, fat and stupid farang with a lovely young Thai girl. Her life is all down hill and if they have kids they will be same as the father. At least if the older man is good looking, good shape and smart there is a good change that he well be well off and his kids will take after him. Youth is over rated by young people who fall under Ugly Fat and Stupid. Mind your own business and stop judging people and hope your kids are not stupid...fat or ugly. Just saying :)

In nature, there are females that stay with the older male for protection and to raise her young. However, she got pregnant to the young male that sneaked in when the old male wasn't looking.
If we can discard the notion that the human race has moved on from the cave, that would seem a pretty fair description of what many women get up to. Many a man has brought up another man's child thinking it was his own.
Young guys for fun and old guys for money and baubles and a home.
Love just doesn't come into it with the old guy.

One of the side effect is that everyone walking past the old geezer & young girl has a bit of a chuckle at them and talks bad about them as they know the girl is a prostitute and only with him for the money. That's probably the biggest "side effect".

Well tell that to my wife who is 24 years younger than me and to our son who has now left university and is working .my wife was a much younger woman and i was not rich.we have lived in the UK and here we laugh every day and spend most of our time together, but then she did not have to marry me for money as her family is middle class? Whatever that means justlike any wife in the west she works earns good money and puts it into our home life (that is exept for the handbags and shoes ) women are women every one is different, mind you if your a sad fat old bugger who marrys the first hooker you meet on your two week holiday here .what else can you expect? It would be the same anywhere in the world

My wife is 22 yeats younger than me,her family are by no means poor, two of them even visited us when we lived in the UK,
We have been together over 24 years and married about 20 years,have a son who has a very good and well paid career, we are as happy as any couple can be ,the only problem is when i die she will still have many years without me ,it makes her very sad.

I enjoy the prospect of a beautiful young woman giving up her best years to me and then having to get old and ugly herself. That is the end result for ALL of us. There are no exceptions.
