October 10, 20169 yr Hello, I'm going to cancel my current visa extension toward the end of this month. I've got a termination letter ready that is addressed to the immigration office where I did the visa extension. However, I'm going up to Laos for a border run through Nong Khai. Can I ask you one question now? Can I leave Thailand for Laos by submitting the letter at the land border post or will I have to go to Nong Khai Immigration to cancel it first before heading to the border post? Or will I have to go to the immigration office where I did the visa extension to cancel it before heading for Laos? To be honest it'll be much easier for me to go straight up to Nong Khai and leave for Vientiane with the letter than to go to the immigration office where I did the visa extension to cancel it first. I'll go back to the same immigration office to make a new visa extension with my new school. Thank you in advance. Edited October 10, 20169 yr by Took
October 10, 20169 yr At the Nong Khai crossing they will send you to the immigration office near the bridge to cancel the extension. You can go to your local immigration office office a few days before the date on the letter to have your extension canceled and they will post date it to the date on the letter. It would be best to do it that way since you will be applying for another extension there.
