Went to renew licence today 5  year  car, sat through the frankly pathetic and childlike video, a  room  full of 28  people, 8 permanently on their  phones 2  asleep...........i particularlyl liked the section on sounding  the horn beep  beep when in your car alone as a  woman to ask for "help", at which point the man tapping on the  glass got his head kicked (literally on the floor with feet going in) in by 5-6 passers  by. A  great show of Thainess and bearing no relation to driving.

In all of the pointless video there was only one vague mention of using  mirrors the whole thing seemed to be based  on "politeness" with "Mr Smart "Mrs  Sweet and "Mr Dumbassferker"

Whole things a waste  of 4  hours, if they simply replaced it with enforcing the rules using the Police it would save a  lot of lives and time.

The eye test is still crap has anyone successfully guessed the difference between their yellow and green as I wasnt the only one who had trouble with the peripheral vision ( assume) test.

The  much younger farang in with me also kept saying green when it was  yellow and why do we need to know  a yellow  light its  not like they use them on traffic  lights.................fortunately i was "told"  yellow brighter???????????? <deleted> so thats how you know if its  yellow or green, yellow is always brighter?????????????

All in all cant say it will do anything to help road safety in any way.

I honestly replied ' yellowgreen' and somehow still got my new licence.

Well at least now you have a 5yr leave from having to go through the charade again, the shorter options are painful to say the least it comes around all too quick

What's the point of complaining about the test standards and then hypocritically accepting your new licence when you admitted your vision isn't up to the required standard?

u  missed the point by 100% whats the point in posting if  "you" dont get it

Our peripheral vision is quick at detecting that something enters our field of sight but it is weak at distinguishing color, shape or detail. This is because fewer and different cells in our eyes and brains are activated when seeing an object with our peripheral vision than when “seeing” the object with our central vision.

in other words its not there as a  test to detect colour yet they show red green yellow  picture (not lights)? when normally they just use a light in your periphery to see if you can see it at all, had  no problem seeing the images of colours but yellow was a  washed out mess green and red much better but  all irrelevant to a "periphery test"...................colour  blind test looks  like this, Ishihara test
