October 13, 20169 yr Popular Post Last Thursday I travelled by train to Hull Consulate (in past have always gone in car) just an heads up that may help anyone going by train/public transport; On arrival at Hull Paragon train station, you need to come out of main entrance and cross the road over to Brook Street (this street is at your 2 O'clock position from main station exit) once on Brook Street walk 50 meters on right hand side, just past Cash Generator shop is a Park & Ride bus stop (busses every 15 mins to Hessle) a return ticket is £2.60 and takes about 15 mins, Hessle is the only stop on this park & ride service. Once you get off the bus, you are on Priory Park (it is a trading estate with various shops and car dealers all in modern units) walk straight ahead back to traffic lights at main road junction where the bus came in and you will see the Mercedes Benz car dealership on Saxon Way facing you, walk past the MB dealers until you see Jaguar sign/dealers on the left hand side and the Consulate is right there (has a large Thai Flag outside) Was an easy journey to make, I rang and spoke with one of the ladies day before who said the best time to get there is in the morning - My journey in total took just over 2.40 hours getting me there about 11.20. There was around 8 people in front of me applying for/collecting various Visas. The consulate is now open plan with just screen dividers separating the consular staff office area from the seating area. I was happy with service.., even though they was busy I was in and out in about 40 mins with a SETV ) just had to take passport and two pics, £25 for visa and £10 processing fee. As most will be aware METVs and retirements etc they advise you to send docs via email first so they can be checked and cleared via London Embassy then Hull will invite you to attend to have your visa issued. Also to save time download Visa application form off website and fill in at home, then you can just hand over your passport, 2 pics, £35 cash and form as soon as you walk in ( i did not and so was directed to fill out form) this put an extra 15 mins on time - 5 mins to complete doc and 10 waiting to hand back in. Note* Hessle does have a train station but services are few and far between apparently so the bus service is best option after getting to Hull by train. I used the TPE Trans Peninne Service, 08.41 Manchester Piccadilly Platform 2, to Hull (Journey time is 1hr 50mins) Fare is £19.50 for a single and £45 for a return, so buy two singles which is £39.00 (I know crazy but thats the crap fair system in the UK, and these are advance tickets, on the day will be a few quid more) Hope this helps anyone who may want to travel there and was wondering which bus and cost/time etc Regards Lokie Edited October 13, 20169 yr by Lokie Added times/fares
January 10, 20179 yr Very helpful thank you. That seems a time consuming way of getting a visa not to mention the expense, just shy of fifty quid. I am South of London so it would more expensive for me. You could have applied by mail to the Thai Embassy in London, is there some reason why you didn't? Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
