When one 16 year old girl was murdered in Thailand recently, even Western media reported about it.

Many threads were opened here in the forum and many BMs discussed it and despite as usually arguing about this and that there was one thing we all agreed about:

The murder of that child was horrific and the perpetrator deserves to be punished accordingly.

But when 20,000 children are massacred, some of them being collateral damage of an illegal war in occupied territory, some of them being intentionally targeted, our reactions are completely different compared to the death of that one girl.

Most BMs criticize it, some still try to deny it and a few even support it, but somehow there is no outrage same as in the case of that one girl.

I think the main reason for that is, we never see them, they are reduced to numbers, 24 kids last week, 19 the week before and so on.

No names - no faces.

The murder of a person without a name and a face can easily be denied and ultimately be forgotten. Which is exactly what the murderer wants.

Israeli Tech companies are successfully working overtime to censor and delete content from Gaza.

Please forgive my grumpy opponent. He is one of those lucky people who need to rely on very few, simple explanations to understand the world.

In his case:

1. There are good people living in benevolent countries.

2. There are bad people living in malevolent countries.

3. We are the good people.

Only now, the world as he knew it for decades is suddenly upside down, and those he thought were good people living in benevolent countries are doing horrific things—committing abominations much worse than the "bad" people ever did.

His situation is comparable to getting carsick while sitting in a car reading a book. As the car constantly changes speed or direction, your sense of balance tells your brain there is movement. At the same time, because you are reading, your eyes tell your brain that you are standing still. Your brain then has to process two completely opposing inputs, which can lead to nausea or even vomiting.

The same goes for our honorable fellow member, @Yagoda .

He always thought he and those he supports were undoubtedly on the right side of history, but now he is confronted with opposing information and proof on a daily basis.

That is why he is so miserable all the time.

I can only stomach a few minutes on that website. Anyone with an ounce of humanity should be shocked and deeply disturbed by man's inhumanity to man. In this case, it is the relentless bombardment of one of the most densely populated places on Earth, where many of the people living there are descendants of refugees driven from their ancestral homes decades ago.

To me, it is genocide. The reason humanity created international institutions after the Second World War was to ensure that horrors like this would never happen again. If those institutions cannot prevent or stop such suffering, then they have failed in one of the very purposes for which they were created.

Whatever history judges the legal definition to be, Israel's international reputation has, in my view, been torn to shreds. The moral damage is so profound that I cannot see how it will ever fully recover from it.

As if completely destroying Gaza, murdering more than 100.000 people and stealing land in the West Bank including brutalizing the Palestinians there and attacking 6 countries, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Yemen, and Qatar, and slaughtering their people was the one and only option after the October 7 attacks.
