No disruption in country administration, PM insists

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha assured the public that government’s administration can continue seamlessly during the country’s mourning for the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Government spokesman Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said on Sunday.

 

The PM wanted to reassure the public that there would be no vacuum about the government’s work, Sansern said after a Sunday meeting of a command centre to monitor situation chaired by PM's Office Minister Suwaphan Tanyuvardhana.

Govt to hold cabinet meeting on Tuesday

  

BANGKOK, 17 October 2016 (NNT) – The spokesman of the Prime Minister Office (PMO) has stated that there will be a cabinet meeting on Tuesday as usual, and that trade and investment activity will continue to proceed as normal. 

PMO spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd disclosed that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said that although Thai people are grieving over the loss of His Majesty the King, everyone must not forget his teachings and should continue to do our duties to develop the country. 

The PMO spokesman has said that the cabinet meeting will take place on Tuesday, 18 October, as normal in order to manage administrative duties and to prepare for the grand royal funeral for His Majesty the King. 

The prime minister also addressed the general public, reminding the public that we all can grieve but we must not forget our duties or lose hope, and that the love and faith must persevere for the nation.
