lol! you stepped right in that one pal!!

the President's order is subject to secondary confirmation by the Secretary of Defense. If the Secretary of Defense does not concur, then the President may in his sole discretion fire the Secretary. The Secretary of Defense has legal authority to approve the order, but cannot veto it.[2][3][4]

He can refuse the order and the president can fire him, but then the president has to convince the guy who takes over. The president can NOT act alone. Again,  protection against a madman.

Brush up on your reading ability. His codes ARE needed and if he is fired the codes are passed on to the assistant SOD.

The president cannot do it alone. He has to convince someone in the chain of command to go along with him and he would be stopped by the cabinet and Congress by then. Nukes are protected against a president going postal.

lol! identification codeds are not transferable! lol. at some point they have to agree as they CANNOT VETO him

They do not need to veto. They can refuse the order and he won't be able to launch before the cabinet and Congress pronounce him unfit for office. A crazy president can NOT launch nukes alone.

Of course it is a fact. The president can not activate the nukes alone.

We had better hope that Duterte never gets a button. He only has to hear God telling him "Push the button, You know this is God, you have my permission to wipe out the whole goddam world"  and flash-boom away goes Hawaii.

nonsense   http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/06/2016-donald-trump-nuclear-weapons-missiles-nukes-button-launch-foreign-policy-213955 But within these broad constraints there is no wiggle room for evasion or defiance of the president’s orders. That’s true even if the national security adviser, the secretary of defense (who along with the president makes up the “national command authority”) and other top appointees and advisers disagree with the president’s decision. It does not matter whether the United States has already come under attack by nuclear or non-nuclear weapons.

Just because the candidates are indulging in insults does not excuse posters on TV from doing so.

No insults.

Simply, descriptions.

Stop wasting our time, have you actually read the articles you have provided links too?

A few errors and mistakes in a country of 300 million is nothing to be panicking about.

We're sure that's just the tip of the iceberg...

If posters just stuck to opinions without the insults the threads about the election would be way more civil.

Of course that doesn't apply to comments about the candidates- if they choose to speak like that, they are both fair game.

Batter up!

Fire away.

I'm not as "sensitive" as you.

I'm not about to back down from savaging the ignorant, incompetent, deserving, crass Bloviator.

Well if your sure, it must be true that Trump is rigging the election.

Authorities in two states have filed vote fraud charges against three separate suspects, just 11 days before the November election, reports say.

Two women in Florida, and a suspect in Virginia, face vote fraud charges of tampering with ballots and voter registration.

In the case in Virginia, a man faces four felony charges for voter registration fraud, according to Washington D.C.’s NBC affiliate.

A president could launch a nuclear strike if he picked a secretary of defense and vice president who would both rubber-stamp his orders, but short of that, a president cannot order a nuclear strike in a unilateral manner.

Wrong thread?

Again?

"We're sure"? :cheesy:

Simply, without foundation.
