PHUKET: -- A Chinese man was arrested yesterday (Oct 17) for working illegally in Thailand as a tour guide while he was on a tour bus with 26 Chinese tourists heading to Phuket Town.

Phuket Tourist Police Chief Col Srisak Kampeeraphan led his team of officers to arrested Ruikai Chen, 30, at the Phuket Checkpoint (Tha Chatchai) in Mai Khao at 6:30pm yesterday.

A statement issued by police states that Ruikai was arrested for working as an illegal tour guide and living in Thailand illegally. Police seized from him a tour program and a name list of tourists in his group.

They're probably still there. Selfie stick, few packs of Mama Noodles and they'll be good for a week.

....living illegally...or by virtue of the 'working illegally charges'.....

...not allowed to bypass the blood suckers in the tourism industry....that is the possible message I get......

...a group of people.....that organized their own tour....

...illegal.....???

Normally the tourists will be sent back to their hotel and perhaps book on a new tour with a thai tour guide who speak chinese.

When BIB don't find a Thai tour guide on board the bus they will say you are acting as a guide so you are working illegally and also taking away the job of the Thai people.

This chinese man thought he could get away with it, he didn't know those BIB are all over the places and they love to stop buses and check.

(by the BIB is Boys in Brown, in case some new to this website puzzle by it like I did before.)

A TEAM of officers,to arrest one man? were they expecting the unarmed tourists on the bus to turn on them then?

The mind boggles,Also the term 'Seized' makes me smile.Could the copper had not just said,"lets have a look at your tourist name list mate"

Why is every thing so F###### dramatic with these people? Its not like he was a dangerous desperado, with the intention of shooting everybody.

makes a good press  release, photo op, and  justifies their jobs for a few more months till the next "bust"
